We know you have questions, and we welcome them! Below are some of the questions we are most frequently asked.

  • Tint is a thin film that is installed on the interior of glass surfaces and is used for many purposes including:

    • to block out harmful UV rays from the sun

    • to keep a vehicle or building interior cooler in hot weather

    • to reduce the sunlight glare on your eyes

    • to help protect surfaces inside from excessive heat damage

    • to provide privacy from onlookers or passersby

    • for cosmetic/ aesthetic purposes

The film is called tint because in general, it darkens or tints the surfaces that it is applied to.

  • Films for residential and commercial services will vary and are discussed/determined during the consulation process.

We offer three types of high-quality films for automobile windows:

    • High Performance Film is our base level dyed film for cosmetic enhancements over your vehicle. It provides ~40% heat rejection and 99% UV protection — which helps protect both you and the interior of your vehicle from the sun’s rays.

    • Carbon Film is made with carbon particles that absorb and reflect glare from the sun. It provides 67% heat rejection and 99% UV protection — which helps protect both you and the interior of your vehicle from the sun’s rays. Carbon film contains no dye, meaning that it cannot fade.

    • Ceramic Film is the highest quality and most durable film available on the market. It offers 80% heat rejection as well as superior glare reduction from the sun and blocks up to 99% of UV rays from entering your vehicle — which helps protect both you and the interior of your vehicle from the sun’s rays. Ceramic film also contains no dye, meaning it cannot fade. We offer a lifetime warranty on this film that replaces the film if it is unintentionally damaged due to bubbling or peeling that is not caused by the customer, standard wear and tear, or acts of God.

  • Our business is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

On weekdays we operate by appointment. Saturdays are exclusively for walk-ins.

  • The Royal Treatment Half or Full Car Aesthetic service is a specialty service that we offer for aesthetic purposes only and is different from standard window film application.

As such, we do not guarantee the quality of the films used to perform these services. Any labor defects must be reported within 48 hours after the completion of the install; and such defects are corrected only at the discretion of the owners.

  • This depends on the film chosen. Generally, the darker the tint (aka the lower the percentage), the harder it can be to see outside at night. However, during the day you will be able to see outside clearly - as you would through your favorite pair of lightly tinted sunglasses. Colors can be slightly distorted when looking through dyed films. There are benefits with regard to film and visibility, as a window film will reduce glare — such as the sun getting in your eyes and the dazzle from headlights at night — and can also reduce eye strain.

  • In general, window film should last at least 3 years and can last as long as 10 years in our experience. Longevity depends on the type of film, level of sun exposure, care, and other factors.

  • In order to provide the best quality finish, we only perform tint installations in our controlled work environment.

  • We do not offer refunds. We are a small business and need to be able to compensate our staff for their labor. Please notify us of any concerns you might have either before you leave the shop or within the designated warranty period, and we will be happy to take a look!

  • We prefer not to. However, if you prefer that we tint over film that is already installed on your car (whether by us or another shop), we do not warranty that work. Any labor defects must be reported within 48 hours after the completion of the initial install; and such defects are corrected only at the discretion of the owners.

  • The film will not interfere with your heated rear screen. To allow for the film to dry evenly after your installation, we recommend that a heated screen is not used for seven days after the window is tinted – thereafter it can be used as per the norm.

  • We recommend that you wait at least 72 hours/ 3 days before rolling your windows down.

  • “Curing” means that the water has fully evaporated from between the glass and the film. The temperature and humidity levels are the biggest factors of curing time; so, to speed up your drying process, always try to park your vehicle in a controlled environment if possible. During the summer, curing can take about 3-7 days. In colder temperatures, curing can take up to 14-30 days.

  • A clear adhesive is applied to the film during manufacture which is covered by a protective backing sheet until it is time for use. The only chemical used in the installation is a mild detergent.

  • We clean the glass thoroughly in preparation for film installation. Patterns are then individually made to the size and shape of your windows. Once we apply the film, your windows look like a factory tinted window.

  • Yes. RTWF offers a limited 2-year warranty for high performance and carbon window films; and a lifetime warranty on ceramic window films. Warranty repairs are honored at the sole discretion of RTWF for bubbling, peeling, and/or fading of the film. However, we do not warranty any damages caused by the customer, car accidents, standard wear and tear, or acts of God. All warranty work incurs a labor cost of $50.

  • The window films used for these services vary by customer need and the type of service being performed. There may be a manufacturer warranty offered on the film. Outside of that, we warranty our initial labor for 5 years against peeling or bubbling that is not caused by the customer, standard wear and tear, or acts of God. All residential and commercial warranty work incurs a labor cost of $75/ hour.

  • For those services, we want to be sure that we can provide the superior level of attention to detail that is needed to perform that labor and we may need more than an average work slot to complete those jobs. Drop-offs must be dropped off no later than 3pm Monday to Friday. If you are dropping your vehicle off for a service, please be sure to select the “Vehicle Drop Off” add-on prior to checkout.

  • It depends on your location. Please email us or schedule a consultation on our booking site to discuss these possibilities.
